Chili sin Carne

You are vegan and don’t want to miss out the traditional Chili con Carne? No problem! Try this recipe with minced soya instead of beef. A simple but delicious dish combined with some plain rice – also easy to precook, if needed.

Here you are:

  • 150 g kidney beans (pre-boiled, dry weight)
  • 1 can of pelati (peeled tomatos)
  • 200 ml of passata (tomato sauce)
  • 100 g of minced soya
  • 1 shallot
  • vegetables (leek, carrots, zucchini, tomatos, peperoncini)
  • 4 – 5 dried tomatos
  • spices (bay leaf, cloves, chilli)
  • salt, pepper, cayenne
  • 1 tbsp of rapeseed oil
  • homemade vegetable stock

 

  1. Cut the shallot into small pieces and sauté them in hot oil
  2. Cut the vegetables into small dices and add them to the shallot
  3. Stir-fry your vegetables for some minuteschili sin carne 1
  4. Deglaze with your homemade vegetable stock
  5. Add the peeled tomatos as well as the tomato sauce
  6. Add your spices as well as salt, pepper and as much cayenne as you like
  7. Let everything cook on low-heat for around 30 minutes
  8. Add the pre-boiled kidney beans together with the fresh tomatos and let it further boilchili sin carne 2 
  9. In the meanwhile prepare the minced soya: boil it up with some vegetable stock, let it soak for ten minutes and then pour off the liquid
  10. Add the prepared soya to your vegetables and mix wellchili sin carne 3

 

Served with or without rice – it’s delicious anyways!
